Great feedback from those who have visited our classroom. Thanks for dropping by on Food Truck night. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we wait for our portable to arrive. The latest estimated time of arrival is the 3rd week of September, but then probably another week to have it set up and move in ready. It's so great in the learning commons that we won't want to leave.

Girls soccer tryouts will start the week of Sept 10. The boys will start soon after.  Tryouts are for grade 5-6 only.

Running Club is starting up while the weather is still nice. Sign ups for grades 4-6 will be this week and they plan to run before school Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:15. More information will be sent home with those that sign up.

Pizza lunch begins on Sept 26th. You should have already received the email with this information. Please go to https://ocsb.schoolcashonline.com to place your order before the end of the day on Sept 17.

If you haven't paid your activity fees by now, please do so. A portion of that amount goes to covering the costs of field trips. If fees aren't paid by the time we go on a trip, you will be asked to pay your child's share of the cost for the outing.

Parking is extremely challenging for everyone as is the traffic in the area. Thank you to those who are walking, biking, and parking on side streets to help alleviate the chaos. Kiss and Ride was difficult the first week and the lot was a mess. Please keep your eyes open at all times to keep our students safe and remember that you should not be parking in the lot to drop off. It is very hard for staff to get in the lot as well and find parking spaces so that we can be at our workplace.

Congratulations to the grade 4's who are almost getting the hang of switching classrooms and not losing their belongings. Many are not adjusting well to flexible seating and not always being at desks. They will now have assigned seats. There is a steep learning curve for them but we'll eventually get there.

The grade 5's are doing great and I am pleased to have so many students from last year with me. It makes the start of the year a lot easier when they already know my expectations. Our friends who were in different classes last year have been a fantastic addition and I look forward to getting to know them better.
